They are a nationally recognized leader in the manufacturing of military armor plate and commercial specialty steel products. Clifton has served the armor plate market for over thirty years and is the premier industry supplier of many of its commercial products. The Company is a specialist in abrasion and impact resistant steel fabrication, particularly for quenched and tempered alloy and manganese steel. As a result of investments in production capabilities, access to critical materials and strong customer relationships, Clifton has established a defensible and sustainable market position.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Must have overhead crane experience
• Review sales order packets to determine proper material grade and thickness.
• Locate and retrieve material to be processed using an overhead crane or tow motor (lifting and moving full places up to 25 tons).
• Please material in the staging area for the burning machine.
• Assist in loading and unloading material to and from the burning machine, flatbed truck or boxcar using cable channels and lift shoes.
• Mark and color-code plates as necessary on inbound inventory (i.e. bill of lading number on each military plate).
• Stock lumber appropriately – general housekeeping.
• Must have the ability to process the jobs within the computer system – logging pieces produced and nonconformances electronically.
• Record material allocated on sales order packet, and include initials and date.
• Upon completion of the sales order packet, place at the appropriate burning machine.
• Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements:

• Tow motor and overhead crane experience.
• Steel manufacturing experience.
• Physically stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions.
• Lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment and take pride in his/her work.
• To be very cooperative with co-workers and management in order to accomplish the objectives of the department and the Company in the most effective manner possible.
