Ship Store Attendant Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION
The Ship Store attendant is responsible for all Ship’s Store purchases, displays, inventory controls, and cash control.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
a) Reports to: Dock Master / Marina Manager
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Keep store well stocked with holiday, seasonal and special order items.
· Prepare timely stock orders.
· Conduct monthly and annual inventories.
· Stock Management
· Verify all incoming shipments with order and packing list.
· Price and enter into inventory with stock numbers.
· Rotate stock under first in, first out system.
· Maintain attractive and effective merchandising with special attention to seasonality.
· Stock supplies for coffee station.
· Keep displays and counters clean and orderly - dust daily.
· Keep coolers clean (inside and out), stocked and orderly.
· Open and close the store each day.
· Open and close out business day.
· Balance cash bank, drawer and sales tickets.
· Prepare daily cash deposits and report.
· Coordination of general housekeeping in store and storage areas.
· VHF base station radio operations.
· Know legal procedures for handling shoplifters and alcoholic beverage sales.
· Any other duties as assigned by the Marina Management
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
· High School education.
· Prior cashier experience.
· Basic computer skills.
· Basic record keeping abilities.
· Ability to work independently with little direction.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
· Pleasant personality and ability to get along with customers, co-workers and management.
· Ability to calculate the prices of goods and services.
· Ability to perform transactions such as cash handling, credit processes, returns or exchanges.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Medium work, ability to move up to 50 lbs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
· Activities occur outside and are subject to weather conditions.
Subject to loud noise levels.
