Shift Manager / FOH Trainer
Summary of Position
Manage daily operations of the restaurant during service. Prepare staff for shifts, execute duties relating to operation of Front of House, expedite food, respond to guest requests. Assist bartenders and servers when necessary. Teach, train, monitor, and evaluate Front of House staff. Communicate to GM and Managers daily, report at the Manager Meeting weekly.
Activities & Responsibilities
- Promote values and mission of The Barley House.
- Update and maintain handbook, all training materials, and online learning platform.
- Update and maintain employee databases including birthdates, anniversaries, and terminations.
- Organize, coordinate, and monitor new hire training, testing, and progress.
- Provide leadership, motivation and coaching to achieve goals and objectives.
- Provide continuing education, resources, and initiatives to establish a culture of learning.
- Update GM of employee performance through logbook and weekly manager meetings.
- Prepare staff schedule, communicate PTO requests, assign specific duties.
- Update and maintain FOH checklists, inventory, and par level sheets.
- Lead and assist daily service shifts including pre-meal meetings, expediting, opening/closing checklists, POS competency.
Qualifications
- Three years of hospitality experience as a server, bartender, or trainer.

Salary: $18.00 per hour
