Sewer & Water Excavation Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Excavation Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with Caterpillar machinery and backhoes. This role involves working on various construction sites, performing excavation tasks, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment. The Excavation Operator will be responsible for digging, building, and maintaining the integrity of excavation sites while adhering to safety protocols.

Duties

• Operate heavy equipment, including backhoes, loaders, excavation tasks.
• Dig trenches and other necessary excavations in compliance with project specifications.
• Build and maintain excavation sites, ensuring safety standards are met.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate excavation activities and ensure project timelines are met.
• Follow all safety regulations and protocols while operating machinery on construction sites.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues as they arise.

Requirements

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation.
• CDL A preferred, but not required
• Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in backhoe operation and loader operation is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively on construction sites with a focus on safety.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks associated with excavation work.
