Location: YMCA Centre for Immigrant Programs

Position Status: Full Time 

Compensation: $49,000 - $52,000 per year

About the Role:

The Settlement Navigation Coordinator leads the operations and service delivery functions of settlement navigation with a focus on team effectiveness, achievement of outcomes, and the evaluation of services in a seamless and integrated manner. This role works closely and collaboratively with community partners and staff to accomplish program objectives and ensure quality of services and program delivery. This role is responsible for the direct leadership, support, and supervision of a diverse team, program development and delivery, tracking and achievement of deliverables and outcomes, reporting, and demonstrating resourcefulness and innovation to enhance services.    

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor activities to ensure outcomes related to settlement navigation are effectively met.
  • Ensure alignment of program objectives with organizational and funder expectations, contributing to strategic vision execution.
  • Oversee program delivery standards, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring compliance with operational standards, regulations, and policies.
  • Manage client information, activity tracking, fiscal management, communication protocols, and safety/security compliance.
  • Act as a daily point of contact for program activities, supporting client interventions and service delivery as needed.
  • Provide leadership and foster consistent program delivery practices, creating opportunities for effective collaboration.
  • Cultivate a positive and supportive work environment, emphasizing staff retention, wellbeing, and growth.
  • Recruit, onboard, supervise, and support the development of program staff, utilizing inclusive hiring and performance management practices.
  • Build and maintain effective, professional relationships with community partners, networks, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in relevant community networks, advocating for the program’s goals and services.
  • Establish and oversee processes for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on program outcomes and service utilization.
  • Prepare regular narrative and statistical reports for internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate program achievements and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain engaging, relevant resources, training materials, and promotional products to support program activities.

Education and Skills Qualifications: 

  • Relevant education and/or combination of training or experience in human service delivery, settlement service delivery, program management, community development or equivalent
  • Minimum 2+ years of progressive experience in staff team leadership, program development, coordination, or delivery of community and client-based programming
  • Robust understanding of settlement sector as well as cultural competency in working with diverse newcomer populations - lived newcomer experience is a strong asset
  • Experience in assessing needs, providing support services, and coordinating with other organizations or agencies
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring operational logistics including expenditures and budget planning
  • Demonstrated experience with resource and tool development to support operational effectiveness and program profiling
  • Proven ability to effectively lead, coach and motivate diverse staff teams modelling organizational mission and vision
  • Strong organizational and program coordination skills, with the ability to design, implement, and evaluate initiatives.
  • Proven record of meeting contract deliverables and reporting on outcome achievement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in promotion, community outreach and service network development
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt programs based on participant needs and community dynamics
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively write professional program reports
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, ACCESS, Excel, Word, PPT), Teams, and Zoom and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies required for excellent service delivery.
