Job Summary
- Serves food to patrons in a dining establishment
General Accountabilities
- Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food
- Takes the customer’s order by writing it down or memorizing it
- Presents order to the cooks on behalf of the patrons
- Serves customers the pre-ordered food
- Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed
- Totals bill and accepts payment or refers patron to Cashier
- Clears or resets table at the end of each course
- Thanks patrons and kindly invite them back for future dining
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Some experience preferred
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Regularly required to use hands
- Occasionally required to lift weights
Work Environment
- Exposure to extreme heat
- The noise level in the work environment usually is loud
