Senior Systems Engineer - (TS/SCI Clearance Required)

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support Security Operations Center (SOC) and Network Operations Center (NOC) activities for a federal government client in Washington, D.C. This is a hands-on, onsite position that requires an active TS/SCI clearance.
Position OverviewThe Senior Systems Engineer will provide systems-level engineering support to a 24/7 SOC/NOC environment, ensuring optimal system performance, security, and resilience. The ideal candidate will be experienced with enterprise system configuration, vulnerability management, endpoint hardening, and monitoring tools such as ACAS, Tenable/Nessus, and other enterprise-level technologies.
You will work closely with cybersecurity analysts, network engineers, and federal leadership to maintain secure operations across mission systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities-
Support SOC/NOC operations to maintain system availability, performance, and security.

Administer and optimize enterprise systems, servers, and network configurations.

Implement and monitor vulnerability management solutions including ACAS, Tenable/Nessus, and related tools.

Conduct system health monitoring, patching, and endpoint configuration management.

Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities across endpoints, networks, and infrastructure.

Provide technical troubleshooting, system upgrades, and configuration management.

Generate system documentation, baselines, and security compliance reports.

Collaborate with cybersecurity and network teams to support incident response and system recovery.

Active TS/SCI security clearance (mandatory).

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of experience in systems engineering or administration within a SOC/NOC or federal environment.

Hands-on experience with:

ACAS, Tenable/Nessus, or similar vulnerability management platforms.

Endpoint hardening, patch management, and system baselining.

Windows and Linux server administration.

Knowledge of STIGs, RMF, and federal security compliance processes.

Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience in DoD or Intelligence Community environments.

Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, and configuration management tools.

Industry certifications such as Security+, CASP+, CEH, CISSP, or Microsoft/AWS certifications.
