Senior Payroll Specialist
We’re looking for a detail-driven and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team in Hunt Valley, MD. In this role, you’ll serve as the go-to expert for all things payroll — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service for both our internal teams and external partners.

What you’ll do:
- Process payroll for multiple companies and provide backup support for the payroll team.
- Post WennSoft payroll data daily.
- Register new tax accounts and manage related compliance documentation.
- Reconcile quarterly and annual payroll reports.
- Prepare and process Certified Payroll Reports weekly.
- Research and resolve payroll tax notices promptly and accurately.
- Set up and audit wage attachments.
- Provide audit support to the Finance team as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality with all sensitive employee and company information.
- Offer backup support to the Director of Payroll and assist with special projects as assigned.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5–10 years of experience managing payroll for a large, multi-state organization.
- Strong understanding of payroll calculations, wage and hour laws, and FLSA regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe; ERP experience preferred.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across all levels of the organization.
- FPC or CPP certification preferred.
- Dayforce and Certified Payroll Reporting experience strongly preferred.

This range represents a general guideline; however, several factors are considered when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
