Summary:

The Manager of Family, Youth and Children’s Services Team reports to the Director of Program and Staff Development and contributes to the overall success of the organization by providing effective and strategic leadership to the Family, Youth and Children’s Services Leads and teams. As an advisor to the senior leadership team this position contributes to the overall effective operation of SCCSS.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Standards
  • Oversees contract standards and renewals of FYCS programs and ensures adherence to program fidelity, contract obligations and standards.
  • Ensures effective service delivery consistent with agency mandate, policy, meeting all legal, contractual, financial and other compliance requirements.
  • Works with the guidance of the Director of Clinical Supervision and Program Evaluation to ensure CARF and supervision standards are met for programs.
  • Manages and oversees Program Leads to establish, maintain, and monitor standards and accountability mechanisms including work plans, outcomes models, monitoring frameworks, and evaluation processes; meeting contract and CARF requirements for completion of program(s) reports, stat collection and maintenance of relevant documents.
  • Builds, develops and maintains effective relationships with all stakeholders of the program(s).
  • Participates and supports Leads in program level meetings with MCFD, CYMH, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Participates in organizational wide initiatives as interested or asked.
Team Leadership and Supervision
  • Plays a key advisory role to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Provides leadership, managerial supervision, and support to a team of 6-8 direct reports.
  • Is accountable for and works with Leads to oversee management of annual/quarterly tasks.
  • Identifies and supports cross team program needs and collaboration between all FYCS programs.
  • Ensures communication and collaboration between the Family Youth and Children's Services program teams and other SCCSS programs and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Works with the People and Culture Department and Leads to recruit, hire, train, and develop staff.
  • Develops opportunities for students and volunteers, when appropriate and ensures successful engagement.
Budget Management
  • Is responsible for monthly and annual budget planning and development.
  • Proactively seeks funding opportunities through grants, donors etc.
Community Development
  • May act as advocate for participant groups in the community, represent the program(s) on committees and advocacy groups in the community in program(s) related areas.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, clinical counselling, social work, or equivalent education with a minimum of three years’ experience.
  • At least three years’ experience in program management and leadership.
  • Experience in program delivery for families, youth, and children, with a thorough knowledge of relevant issues.
  • Ability to work from an inclusion-based and trauma-informed approach.
  • Experience with annual planning cycles, including work plans, evaluation, and budgets.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a history of good team-oriented relationships.
  • Knowledge of systemic issues in society through an anti-oppressive lens and understanding of the impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples.
  • Experience with non- violent crises intervention approaches; particularly when dealing with marginalized individuals.
  • Successful results of criminal records check.
  • Valid drivers’ license with safe driver abstract is required along with the ability to transport children on occasion.
