Senior Cybersecurity Engineer II

We are currently seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer II to design and develop secure integration patterns that enable zero trust authentication and authorization across enterprise applications. This role focuses on architecting reusable frameworks, APIs, and reference implementations that accelerate zero trust adoption and enhance identity, access, and data protection capabilities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in application security, identity frameworks, and AWS cloud engineering within classified environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain reusable frameworks, libraries, and APIs that enable secure, zero trust integration for enterprise applications.
· Develop technical documentation, developer guides, and best practices to streamline adoption of identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
· Implement fine-grained authorization patterns such as entitlements, row-level security, and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC).
· Collaborate with security architects, application developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure designs align with zero trust and compliance requirements.
· Conduct code reviews, provide technical mentorship, and promote secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
· Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies supporting authentication and authorization standards including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
· Support enterprise initiatives to strengthen identity federation, multi-factor authentication, and continuous authorization capabilities.
Required Qualifications
· Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
· 7+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
· Proven experience designing and deploying applications in AWS cloud environments at IL6+ classification levels.
· Strong understanding of zero trust architecture and modern identity frameworks.
· Hands-on experience implementing authentication and authorization frameworks (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML).
· Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, or Python.
· Demonstrated ability to document complex technical solutions and create developer-friendly integration materials.
· Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
· Expertise in containerized deployments and microservice architectures.
· Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
