Senior Restaurant Accountant

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing financial operations, overseeing daily accounting functions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with restaurant-specific financial regulations. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of restaurant accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly financial records for the restaurant operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit-and-loss statements.

  • Perform bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.

  • Track inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Prepare and file tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and other restaurant-specific filings.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and analyze variances to ensure financial goals are met.

  • Support the finance team in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of restaurant performance data to management.

  • Provide financial advice and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audit processes.

  • Assist in managing vendor relationships, ensuring proper documentation for payments and financial records.

  • Manage and update accounting software and systems for optimal efficiency.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.

  • Strong understanding of restaurant-specific accounting practices, including food cost management, inventory control, and payroll systems.

  • Proficient in Restaurant365 is a must.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Russian language proficiency is highly preferred

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
