Senior Accountant

We’re looking to find a driven and collaborative Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of industry experience or a recently designated CPA coming out of public practice who’s ready to take the next step in their career.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting under IFRS, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and helping drive continuous improvement across processes and systems. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, bringing insights that support decision-making and help shape our growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Lead continuous process improvement initiatives by assessing current workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing changes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Manage sales invoicing, cash receipt reconciliations, and customer account discrepancies.
- Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
- Prepare and submit compliance filings such as B300, GST/HST, and other regulatory reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize financial reporting and streamline processes.
- Provide support for audits and other ad hoc projects as needed.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and inventory accounting.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze financial performance, identify trends, and support business decision-making.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative, growth-focused team culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (or in progress) is preferred.
- 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting systems; experience with Cannabis 365 and Dynamics 365 is an asset
- Exceptional analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail; able to identify issues and propose practical solutions
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities may shift
- Self-starter with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Curious, adaptable, and eager to grow in a role that offers exposure across a growing business
