Security Guard Night Shift

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing security for residents, employees and visitors of facility. Protects facility building, assets and premises as assigned.

Performance Requirements:

•  Patrols facility buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and intruders. Monitors conduct of visitors on premises; confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, as needed. Reports safety and/or fire hazards or security violations.
• Participates in investigations; maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
• Secures and/or unlocks offices and facilities as required. May secure resident valuables or lost and found articles; maintains log of items received.
• Controls parking and traffic flow; enforces parking regulations.
• Maintains established facility policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
• Maintains records, reports, files as required.
• Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems in assigned areas.
• Responds to calls for assistance in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner.
• Attends all meetings and in-services, as required.
• Responds to ambulances and first responders on campus immediately.
• Complies fully with and treats all residents, families, co-workers, management and stakeholders of Christwood in accordance to the hospitality standards. 

Special Needs/Demands:

Must have a genuine interest in geriatric care and believe in and uphold the philosophy of the facility.

Qualifications:

•   Ability to read, write, and understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
•  Must be able to make decisions quickly and in accordance with established protocol.
•  Must have or be willing to be trained in first responder and first aid training.
•   Two years' experience in security preferred.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements:

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time.  May be exposed to elements (heat, cold, rain, snow).  Ability to push, pull and lift in excess of 50 lbs.  Ability to walk 90% of the workday.  Ability to stoop and stretch occasionally.  Must observe universal precautions.

• Stands and walks most of the day. Exposed to heat, cold and dangers of assault and hazards resulting from investigation of alarms and other irregularities when making rounds. May be called upon to assist with residents.  Work area covers the entire facility and grounds.
• Will work Nights, Holidays, and Weekends as needed and scheduled.
