Job Overview

This is a great opportunity to join Cash and ACE Casinos as the Security Guard.  The position is based in Red Deer. The Security Guard will be completing security-related duties that come with working at the casino and is responsible to keep the company property and assets safe and protected and Secure, along with giving amazing customer service to the patrons. The guard also will be supporting the security supervisors in various security duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

·         Promote positive customer service in and around the Casino.

·         Answer inquiries and assist patrons when and where possible.

·         Maintain constant vigilance to ensure the safety of both patrons and staff.

·         Actively communicate with team members and on-shift supervisors to identify and supply information regarding suspicious activities, individuals, and/or misconduct.

·         Actively participate in the removal of individuals deemed undesirable, disruptive and/or under the influence.

·         Escort of patrons and staff to and from the Casino upon request.

·         Implementing fire alarm, bomb threat or robbery protocols, including full evacuation.

·         Response to security incidents or medical emergencies in a timely fashion.

·         Pit Check - Ensure table boxes are distributed to appropriate tables, and boxes have been properly reset and locked by count room staff. Completed once in the evening after the close of table games and once by morning staff, before the casino opens, to prevent mishaps during the table box pull.

·         Adherents to good OH&S practices.

·         Ensure all irregular, unusual, suspicious, or illegal activities are controlled and reported.

·         Ensure the accurate and neat recording of all activities in the appropriate logs and reports.

·         Safeguard all confidential information and exercise due care to prevent its improper disclosure or use.

·         Maintain and promote good public relations and communications with the Casino's patrons and staff.

·         Comply with all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

.         Ensures all money and chips are safe.

·         Provide escorts to the guests as needed.

·         Complete incident reports as needed.

·         Execute duties in a positive and a professional manner.

Education and Experience

1-3 Years of security experience

AGLC Registration

AGLC ProTect

AGLC ProServe

AGLC Reelfacts VLT employee training

AGLC Deal Us In Phase 1 and 2

Anti-money Laundering

First Aid

Alberta Security License

Skills and Abilities

Must be 18 years or older.

Must have a police criminal record check no older than three months.

Must meet all AGLC requirements for a gaming worker's license.

 Must obtain an AGLC AML certification prior to applying for a gaming worker's license.

Must complete the following before starting the role: Pro-Tec, Pro-Serve, Deal Us In (Phase I and II), Reelfacts VLT Employee training, First Aid / CPR.

Must be proficient in the English Language (written and oral).

Must have excellent communication skills.

Previous experience or training in security would be an asset.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office would be an asset.

Training in conflict de-escalation and resolution would be an asset. 

Physical Requirement

Ability to lift and carry up to 5O Ibs.

Ability to restrain individuals and/or be involved in physical altercations.

Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to sixty minutes).

Ability to respond quickly to urgent situations.

This role requires a clear criminal record check.
