Are you an experienced cook who thrives in the heat of the line—fast, focused, and precise? grove, part of Essence Hospitality (also home to Bistro Bella Vita and Lucy’s), is looking for a Sauté Cook who can balance technical skill with creativity in a high-caliber kitchen.
We’re known for ingredient-driven, from-scratch cooking and seasonal menus that celebrate Michigan farmers and producers. At grove, execution and finesse matter—especially on sauté, where timing, flavor, and consistency define the guest experience.

What You’ll Do
- Manage the sauté station with speed, precision, and consistency during service
- Execute dishes to grove’s exacting standards of flavor, texture, and presentation
- Maintain mise en place and readiness across multiple pans and proteins
- Collaborate with the chef team to develop and refine seasonal menu items
- Uphold cleanliness, organization, and safety standards at all times
- Support a positive kitchen culture built on teamwork and communication
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen, ideally on the sauté or hot line
- Strong technical skills in pan sauces, reductions, and protein cookery
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about excellence
- A team player with clear communication and pride in their craft
