Sanding/Grinding Technician

Position Title: Sanding/Grinding Technician - Weekend Shift 

Position Summary: Prepping product for paint by grinding the welds and fixing imperfections.

Regular Hours: Friday - Sunday, 6:00am - 6:30pm 

Weekly Perfect Attendance Bonus: $2.00 per hour additional for every hour worked up to 40 hours. $3.00 additional for every hour over 40 in addition to the overtime rate. (Must qualify for Attendance Bonus each week to receive bonus).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·       Grinding welds and imperfections.

·       DA imperfections and grind marks.

·       Continuous 5S practice within department.

·       Conforms to all plant policies and procedures.

·       Obeys and enforces all safety rules.

·       Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

·       High school diploma or equivalency required.

·       1 year experience in body work preferred.

·       1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Conditions and Equipment:

·       Standard plant environment, climate controlled in the winter and temperature can exceed 90 degrees in the summer.

·       Variety of hand tools including grinder, DA, dye grinder. 

·       Safety equipment required includes respirator, coveralls, ear plugs, face shield, safety glasses.
