Our Midwest service center located in Alsip, Illinois is currently seeking an experienced, dedicated, and dynamic Sales Representative to join our growing team.

The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, driving growth in target markets, and achieving sales goals within the assigned territory. Travel throughout the territory is required. RMP offers a salary commensurate with experience along with a solid benefits package. Allowances for phone, mileage, and vehicle are included for this position. 

Responsibilities and Duties

As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Sales Representative. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.

  • Identify potential new accounts through various channels including cold calling, emailing, company-provided lead lists, industry events, and networking with a focus on the stainless steel market.
  • Effectively communicate RMP’s value proposition of the products and services we offer to potential customers.
  • Schedule and conduct regular meetings with potential customers to showcase RMP value.
  • Represent RMP at various industry-related trade shows and events.
  • Work closely with Sales Manager and marketing team to align business development strategies with overall company goals.
  • Regularly update Sales Manager on progress of converting leads into customers.
  • Utilize CRM software to track and report on sales activities and conversion metrics.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
  • Adhere to all RMP’s safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Adhere to all RMP’s handbook policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • Minimum two years as a sales representative with experience in the steel industry with focus on stainless steel
  • Goal-orientated with proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • In-depth stainless steel product knowledge to effectively communicate with potential customers
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work independently on assigned tasks
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
  • Valid State Driver’s License; safe driving record
