DOING RIGHT BY PEOPLE – IT’S WHAT WE DOReporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales Development Representative position will focus on sales activities for clients with less than 10 employees. Key responsibilities encompass prospecting, initiating outbound communication, responding to requests for information, conducting demos and following the sales process through to Implementation. The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for qualifying leads & opportunities and effectively updating the sales team when opportunities fall outside of their assigned segment. They serve as the bridge connecting sales consultants with promising leads and business prospects, playing a vital role in pinpointing opportunities and establishing the foundation for prosperous sales interactions.

- Generate qualified leads – This involves prospecting, cold calling, emailing, and networking to identify and qualify potential customers who have a genuine interest in the company's products or services. You will follow up on inbound leads and engaging with potential customers through various channels to qualify, understand needs and present Payworks’ solutions, including demos and pricing.
- Work closely with the sales team – You will work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition of qualified leads and provide ongoing support throughout the sales process and provide first level back up to the members of the sales team during absences.
- Conduct outreach and meet targets – Follow up on inbound leads and engaging with potential customers through various channels to qualify, understand needs and present Payworks’ solutions, including demos and pricing. You will achieve or exceed predetermined sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to lead generation and revenue generation.
- Maintain accurate records - Keep detailed records of all interactions with prospects and customers in the company's CRM system to track progress, monitor performance, and facilitate seamless handoffs to the sales team and/or Implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with prospects.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and processes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
- Recent experience in an inside B2B sales role or equivalent combination of education & experience would be considered an asset
- Experience in selling or working with Payroll, HRMS and Workforce management, and related technologies preferred.
- Ability to meet or exceed sales and/or customer satisfaction metrics such as sales targets, revenue goals, conversion rates, customer retention rates, and other KPIs.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
