Sales Associate
Position Overview
Cobalt Management Services is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Sales Associate to join our growing team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to build a foundation in business development, relationship management, and strategic sales support across a range of clients—including nonprofit leaders like the Players Philanthropy Fund (PPF). Candidates should have a passion for closing deals, communicating value, and thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting & Lead Generation: Utilize HubSpot and other CRM tools to identify and engage potential clients, track interactions, and maintain accurate pipeline data.
- Sales Engagement & Customer Service: Initiate and manage outreach efforts including email campaigns, discovery calls, cold calls, and follow-ups to nurture prospects.
- Client Support: Assist senior sales and client success teams in managing relationships, preparing presentations, and ensuring smooth onboarding processes.
- Reporting & Metrics: Monitor and report key sales performance indicators using established metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, operations, and client services to align sales strategies with organizational goals.
- Process Optimization: Contribute to the improvement of sales processes, client journey mapping, and CRM utilization.
- Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor analysis, and opportunities relevant to Cobalt’s portfolio and mission-driven clients.
Reporting Structure
- This individual will report to the Business Development Manager and the Vice President of Operations.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in HubSpot CRM, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, Drive)
- Sales Acumen: Base knowledge of sales fundamentals, KPIs, and a desire to learn and grow within a sales pipeline.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for persuasive storytelling and consultative selling.
- Organization: Highly organized and efficient; able to manage multiple leads and deadlines with clarity and consistency.
- Team Orientation: A proactive collaborator who values accountability, open feedback, and team-driven success.
Preferred Attributes
- Residency in Maryland or within commuting distance to Cobalt’s client hubs is preferred, though remote candidates will be considered.
- Knowledge of digital communication tools such as Meltwater
Compensation
- Base Salary: Starting at $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience and location.
- Incentives: Performance-based bonuses and/or commission incentives available tied to lead conversion, client acquisition, and other KPIs.
