Job Title: Sales Assistant (Catering)
Hourly Rate: $16.50
Contract Term: 8-week term, starting June 9, 2025
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Position Type: Canada Summer Jobs contract
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must meet the criteria below to qualify for roles funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
- The candidate must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
- The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
- The candidate must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment

Who We Are:
Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts venue site tours as assigned;
- Responds to client telephone and email inquiries as assigned;
- Understands and accurately communicates Heritage Park guidelines and policies
- Prepares correspondence with high degree of accuracy
- Maintains filing systems for completed catered event sheets, industry references and information and collateral marketing materials;
- Assists with event payment collection;
- Attends weekly Event Planning meeting and records minutes;
- Assists with interdepartmental communication of catered event information in terms of distribution of change orders and event recaps;
- Assists with data collection for specialized reports as directed;
- Conducts scheduled photo escorts for wedding clients as required;
- Assists Banquet Services as a server and with office administration as required; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria
- Prior customer or client service experience is an asset
- Previous administrative experience, and/or experience in a hospitality or similar industry is an asset
- Strong skills with computer applications; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Publisher
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are essential
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-facing setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness in handling confidential organizational information
- Commitment to continuous learning and development
- All successful candidates over the age of 18 will be required to go through a Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening if working with minors) as a condition of employment.
