Room Attendant Job Description:

 As a Room Attendant, you will be responsible for cleaning rooms and common areas, disposing of trash, changing beds, and notifying maintenance of any issues. You should be able to lift 25 pounds and have an eye for cleanliness.

 Our ideal candidate will enjoy cleaning and serving others. An integral part of your position is to make the guest feel they are welcome. You can accomplish this by greeting them and being ready to answer questions they may have. You will be able to work well as a team member or alone, depending on the duties you are performing.

Room Attendant Roles:

Cleanliness:

  • Keep facilities and common areas clean and maintained.
  • Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters and floor surfaces or any other applicable surfaces by using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes and/or cleaning agents.
  • Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges and any other applicable surfaces.
  • Remove trash from guest rooms.
  • Replenish amenities, linens and supplies in guestroom and bathroom following established standards.
  • Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
  • Empty, clean, and maintain vacuum cleaner during and after every shift.

Time/Efficiency

·         Complete required tasks in the time allotted.

·         Keep track of room times on daily housekeeping board.

·         Be able to work as individually or as a team on any assigned task.

Service:

·         Read and use guest comments and Medallia surveys to improve hotel scores.

·         Have a service friendly attitude toward all guests visiting our property.

·         Arrive on time for your scheduled shift and honor scheduled breaks and meal times.

·         Arrive at work in a clean, maintained uniform and personal appearance as described in the employee handbook.

Communication:

  • Notify maintenance of necessary repairs.
  • Turn in all lost and found items per hotel policy.

Safety/Security:

  • Keep master key on person and secure at all times by using properly and by returning to the housekeeping supervisor at the end of every shift.

·         Following safety and security procedure set forth by the organization.

  • Assist guests in an emergency and respond to guest inquiries.

Room Attendant Requirements:

 

  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to follow instructions while working unsupervised.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, climb, bend, reach, grasp, carry and lift up to 25 pounds, and push or pull housekeeping cart weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to ensure detailed cleaning.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with hotel guests.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays including overtime as required.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
