Summary

Provides supervision for direct care personnel in nursing department and helps residents to meet their needs in a caring atmosphere.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Know and practice Resident's rights.

Demonstrate a caring attitude in all interactions with residents.

Perform nursing procedures per policy/procedure book.

Utilize all safety equipment and precautions as per policies and procedures when transferring or ambulating residents.

Admit, transfer and discharge residents per nursing protocol.

Supervise CMT's, CNA's and NA's.

Make rounds with doctors. Go with physicians monthly to review resident's health status, concerns, etc. If any new orders will document in nurse notes, change orders in chart and fax pharmacy.

Assess residents health status, needs, concerns, etc. and report to the physician as needed.

Report dietary changes in writing to the dietary department.

Assure weekly and monthly vital signs are completed and recorded.

Do treatments such as perform skin bandage changes, wound procedures, lotions, creams, etc.

Chart in nurse's notes any changes in resident condition, mental status, medicine changes, falls, antibiotic monitoring, etc.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a graduate of a RN or LPN training program and have current RNĀ  licensure in the state of Missouri.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.

Must be able to deal with residents and families in a pleasant and supportive manner and must be able to work effectively with fellow employees.
