Salary Wage: $44k-50k DOE
Reports to: Chief of Staff, Director of Camping
Full time exempt position
Health Coverage: 80% YMCA/20% Staff (Director must secure own health insurance with cap of $3,000 per year paid by Sioux YMCA)
Retirement: 12% YMCA retirement per two years employed by YMCA/vested policy
Housing can be provided by YMCA if needed
Job Description
Consistent with the mission and vision of the YMCA Seven Council Fires, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of CEO/Executive Director, Chief of Staff and Director of Camping the Retreats and Trips Director is responsible for the YMCA’s retreats, trips and volunteer programming. They will ensure quality program delivery and facility upkeep, cleanliness, and safety to experience success. He/she/they participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, and collaboration with community stakeholders.

Superior supervisory skills and an enthusiastic personality with the ability to inspire volunteers and guests to create a culture of belonging
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, monitoring of program budget and recruiting of groups, trips and volunteers.
Must possess a valid driver's license and clear MVR with insurance
Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs; ability to use most office equipment is required
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Minimum 21 years of age
Four-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Ability to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problems
Be customer service driven, have a positive mental attitude towards camp and youth work, be able to maintain a professional image and be a team player.
Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to communicate and strengthen relationships with community leaders
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
Ability to effectively recruit, manage and work with various retreats, trips and volunteers.
Essential Functions
Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility; implement character development and the YMCA core values in all programs and all aspects of operations
Model and put into practice behavior that supports inclusion, diversity and equity
Manage and monitor your department budget and meet or exceed budget targets
Represent the YMCA and maintain appropriate relationships with area organizations, community leaders and businesses
Ensure outstanding customer/member/community service
Ensure all safety procedures are followed in accordance with YMCA of Seven Council Fires policy and all local, tribal, state & federal laws; ensure compliance with Y policies and procedures
Assist with staff and volunteer development and motivation; create a caring, friendly, fun, safe environment that provides opportunities for staff to connect, develop relationships, and achieve their goals through the Y
Lead marketing and promotion for retreat programs and specialty programs under your areas of responsibility.
Builds effective, authentic relationships with retreat guests, campers, parents, alumni, volunteers and the community; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
Assist in the year round operation of YMCA including fundraising, program development, special events and other duties as assigned.
Ensure all goals are met with revenue and recruitment of groups and volunteers.

Helping with our Daycare when needed
Driving for elders meals and programming when needed
Act as housing manager depending on which YMCA housing you are living
Assist with community events when needed
Generally help with YMCA day to day operations

WORK SCHEDULE:
The schedule for this full-time position is generally Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, though evenings and weekend work may be required depending on the business need. Summertime and when retreat and groups are present may require extra hours and also weekend work.
Required Certifications
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required within 30 days of employment
Completion of YMCA’s Blood Borne Pathogens training annually
Completion of YMCA’s Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Class annually
Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor
