Retail Associate - Outfitter Shop

Position Summary

The Retail Associate for the Guy Harvey Outfitter Shop is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience while promoting the Guy Harvey brand, marine conservation message, and resort lifestyle. This role combines retail sales, guest engagement, and visual merchandising to create a welcoming and memorable shopping environment for resort guests and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every guest warmly and provide personalized service
• Educate guests on Guy Harvey products, brand story, and conservation efforts
• Drive retail sales through product knowledge, upselling, and suggestive selling
• Assist guests with product selection, sizing, and purchases
• Handle transactions accurately using POS systems (cash, credit, room charge)

• Act as a brand ambassador for Guy Harvey and the resort
• Communicate the mission of ocean conservation and sustainability initiatives
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold brand standards at all times

• Open and close the shop following established procedures
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal of the retail space
• Restock merchandise and ensure displays are fully merchandised
• Monitor inventory levels and report low stock or discrepancies
• Assist with receiving, tagging, inventory, and pricing merchandise

• Ensure displays align with brand standards and seasonal promotions
• Keep product presentations neat, organized, and visually appealing
• Rotate merchandise to maximize exposure and sales

• Follow all cash handling and loss prevention procedures
• Adhere to resort policies, including safety and emergency protocols
• Maintain awareness of shop security and report any concerns

Qualifications

• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for customer service and creating memorable guest experiences
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems
• Interest in marine life, conservation, or coastal lifestyle is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to move throughout the store and stock areas
