Restorative CNA
General Description
Responsible for assisting residents with exercises to improve activities of daily living in individual and group restorative programs.
Essential Duties
1. Performs group restorative program exercises with residents daily and documents participation.
2. Assists residents with individualized restorative programs including, but not limited to: • Ambulation • Transfers • Range of Motion • Splint/Braces • Bowel and Bladder • Grooming/Bathing/Dressing
3. Tracks resident participation in restorative programs.
4. Encourages residents to work towards restorative program goals and reports progress to supervisor as needed.
5. Notifies supervisor of resident decline or improvement.
6. Assists residents with individualized dining program and documents consumption and participation.
7. Performs essential functions of Certified Nursing Assistants as needed
Other Duties
Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. Performs other work duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Training
Current State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
Skill(s):
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; knowledge of drug interactions, side effects, and incompatibilities; decision-making skill; proficient assessment skills; safety techniques; basic computer skills; able to operate various medical and office equipment; auditory and visual skills. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
Experience:
Previous work experience in a long term care setting preferred.
