Restorative Aide (RA) CNA FT 5 days a week 8a-4:30p with alternating Saturday/Sunday hours

Since 1914, Luther Park Community has provided quality services for mature Iowans meeting their physical, spiritual, social and psychological needs. We are seeking Certified Restorative Aide/CNA with specialized training in restorative care at Trinity Center; a 120-bed Health Center which specializes in Alzheimer's care. Restorative aides are health-care professionals who are responsible for providing restorative and rehabilitation care for residents to maintain or regain physical, mental and emotional well-being. This is a full-time position working M-F 8a - 4:30p working alternating Saturdays or Sundays.

JOB SUMMARY

Restorative Nurse Aides implement restorative nursing care to residents per the resident’s individualized, comprehensive care plan and documents and reports day-to-day changes. Restorative aides work in collaboration with registered nurses, physical, occupational, and speech therapist and serve in a maintenance capacity in the absence of the nurse or therapists.

Requirements:

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Satisfactory completion of the 75-hour nursing assistant course required 

·         Valid and current on the Iowa Nurse Aide Registry through the Department of Inspection and Appeals website

·         Additional training in rehab/restorative aide required

·         Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language

·         Ability to make independent decisions 

·         Ability to effectively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and general public

·         Knowledge and understanding of dementia and dementia care

·         Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures in a long-term care setting

·         Plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures necessary for providing quality care

·         Must have patience and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents

·         Proficient with computer programs including but not limited to Outlook Word, Excel and Point Click Care
