POSITION OVERVIEW

Role Priorities

a.    Customer Service: To Sell, To Service, To Satisfy, and To See the Guest again

â–ºProviding exceptional Sequence of Service (SOS)

b.    Sales and Profit Driven Focus

â–ºSuggestive Selling and Upselling

c.    Effective Communication with Management, Co-Workers and Customers

d.    Responsible for the Health and Safety of Co-Workers and Customers

e.    Follow all Food Safety and Food Handling Requirements

f.     Teamwork


Role Requirements

a.    One year as a Server in a Full Service Restaurant using Point of Sale platforms

b.    Must be fluent in English

c.    Must be a people-person, must be Nice, Respectful, a self-motivator, have a cheerful disposition, out-going, enthusiastic and be tolerant of close contact with other people

d.    Able to handle conflict in a professional manner

e.    Must have an “Of Service†Mind-Set

f.     Unexpired California Food Handlers Certification

g.    Able to Total bills, accept payment, accurately handle cash and credit card transactions

h.    Compile daily financial reports

Position Responsibilities and tasks

â— Know your work Schedule and be on time for every shift

â— Adhere to Uniform Standards (Correct, Clean, and Professional) at all times

â— Understand, Value and Follow Safe Work Practices at all times

◠Learn Maria’s Menu by heart

â— Take accurate Guest Food Orders and input orders into the POS correctly

â— Coordinate entire station and communicate with front and back-of-the-house personnel to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.

â— Observe customers, in a timely manner, to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service.  Respond to additional requests and determine when the meal has been completed

â— Assist bus person with stocking and removing dishes and silverware between courses (Pre-Bussing) and cleaning and resetting vacated tables

â— Provide a favorable image of Maria's Italian Kitchen at all times and to promote our objectives and enhance public recognition of our areas of endeavor

â— Present, open, and pour wine when serving guests

â— Assist and support Co-Workers during the shift. Teamwork, Teamwork, Teamwork.

â— Assist and support other departments when time allows

◠Maintain all work areas during the shift (Stocking, Cleanliness, etc…)

â— Complete Side-work thoroughly and in a timely manner with minimal supervision

â— Follow all Meal and Rest Break Requirements

â— Take direction from Management and Supervisors during your shift

â— Other duties as assigned

Typical working conditions          

  • Predominantly standing and walking
  • Repeat the same physical activities, such as but not limited to serving Food and Beverages
  • Respond quickly in a demanding environment while staying Calm and Professional
  • Close contact with other people
  • Work indoors, but may work in outdoor serving areas
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting (approximately up to 30 lbs)- Ask For Help!
