Revel, adjacent to the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown is searching for an Executive Chef to lead their culinary team.  Revel is a refined American restaurant located steps from Market Square and offers a casual dining menu, seasonal outdoor seating and handcrafted drinks. The Executive Chef is also responsible for culinary in Roost, an elevated event space.  This property is locally owned and operated by Piatt Hotel Group, an established, family-owned management group with a portfolio of newly constructed, renovated and well-maintained properties across Western PA. The Executive Chef is in charge of all culinary operations and some of their duties include:

  • Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
  • Supervise/Lead the Culinary department
  • Functional leader working side by side with the team
  • Recruit/hire for the Culinary department
  • Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
  • Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
  • Provide disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Responsible for communicating to all departments about the restaurant.
  • Responsible for assisting with the training of all team members to exceed in each of their positions
  • Perform administrative duties
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Required Skills:

  • Proven ability to train others and lead a team.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, software, and programs.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to consistently organize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient skills in math and financial management including labor and food cost controls.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding people skills
  • Trustworthy and results-driven
  • Must be available nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Education and Experience:

  • Five or more years of progressive experience in a senior culinary leadership role
  • Associate's Degree in culinary arts preferred or equivalent job-related experience.
