Your new role

You will oversee the development of project scope, budget, and schedule for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems at our current and future mining facilities. This role involves ensuring compliance with engineering standards, regulations, and safety protocols. You will manage and allocate resources efficiently to optimize project execution. Additionally, you will develop and implement robust engineering, procurement, and construction strategies to achieve project goals and objectives.

Your responsibilities will also include exercising risk management, producing comprehensive reports, and reviewing and evaluating engineering designs, construction strategies, and project control outputs. This multifaceted role is essential for maintaining the integrity and success of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your new role will oversee the following areas for the project, which is in its pre-construction phase:

Development of strategies for the efficient and effective reticulation of low, medium and high voltage system

Integrating the needs of all the project areas to develop appropriate control systems and instrumentation designs to enable efficient and effective operation of the asset for the long term

Working with equipment suppliers to ensure that optimal engineering electrical and control systems solutions are incorporated to ensure that the long-term operations are safe and efficient

Working with construction contractors to ensure that safe installation of the designed electrical and control systems

Implementing a site wide DCS (including the development of the control systems specifications) to enable automated operation of mining and processing equipment, including the potential for off-site controls.

Ensuring that the project phase information is complete and ready for integration into operating systems as part of the ramp-up of the operation into full production.


What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, or a related field.

Registered with the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ).

10+ years of experience in construction and mining project management.

Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering on large-scale projects, including a demonstrated understanding of the implementation of electrical systems, instrumentation and control systems designs.

Bilingual (able to communicate with clients and stakeholders in English and French).

Leadership qualities to motivate and guide engineering, procurement and construction teams.

Collaborative skills to work with functions and other areas in scope delivery.

Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and evaluation.

Proficient in data analysis and reporting for performance assessment.
