We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join a interdisciplinary care team in a nursing home/long-term care facility setting. This is a meaningful opportunity to support elderly and chronically ill residents with personalized respiratory care that enhances their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of residents' respiratory health using physical exams, diagnostic tools, and medical history.
- Administer evidence-based treatments, including nebulizer therapy, oxygen therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
- Monitor and adjust respiratory equipment and oxygen systems, including ventilators when applicable.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and allied staff to develop care plans and respond to changes in respiratory status.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in code situations as needed.
- Educate residents, families, and care staff on respiratory conditions and equipment use.
- Maintain detailed, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
- Support infection control efforts and ensure proper equipment sanitation and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program.
- Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) credential through NBRC.
- Current Florida license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in respiratory care; prior work in long-term or geriatric care is highly valued.
