The person in this position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for establishing and managing the resort’s daily operations. The role especially involves coordinating the activities of Guest Services, Engineering, Sales, Food and Beverage and Housekeeping departments.  Works with department heads to ensure that all guest needs and concerns are properly addressed. Participate in business planning and review activities to ensure the financial wellbeing of the property. Checking audit reports and researching discrepancies will be part of the daily duties.

 Job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight to develop, train and manage all positions from GSM, AGSM to all Department Head positions along with their staff. 
  • Responsible for the smooth operation and coordination between the Department Managers and its staff
  • Walk property daily to ensure it is well maintained and no safety concerns.  Monitor staff to ensure they are following uniform policies as well as staying engaged with our guests
  • Work with GSM to ensure the proper functioning of the FD and the wellbeing of its staff
  • Resolve guest services discrepancies; financial, reservations, etc.
  • Ensure that unscheduled cash drawer audits are performed
  • Review with QC any guest issues and refunds to ensure the FD is handling appropriately
  • Provide coaching and leadership skills to department heads and line staff
  • Provide support to all departments by reviewing schedules and trainings
  • Ensure department inventories are completed and review results with the GM for ordering
  • Bridge the communication between departments
  • Create a sense of belonging for team members
  • Follow and implement the company culture
  • Support hiring work flows among all departments
  • Ensure adherence to hotel policy from employees as well as guests
  • Schedule/host staff meetings
  • Work with guests to resolve problems by suggesting and applying mutually agreeable solutions

  • Work with all departments to ensure guests request are met in a timely and proficient manner

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Resort Management or in a similar role required
  • Strong organizational and communalization skills
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, best practices and trends
  • Leadership abilities in order to motivate/manage a diverse team of leaders and staff.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Working knowledge of financials and accounting
  • Proficiency with computers and general office PC applications (email, POS system, etc.)

  • Valid Driver’s License
