 Your new role 

You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous engagement of the site-based teams in the Windfall mining project, which is at the pre-construction phase, through pro-active engagement and participation in the project design and execution processes. This ambassador role will be accountable for : 

  • Continually interacting with the site-based teams and identifying areas of concern for the project team to address; 
  • Attending site management and project team meetings to proactively exchange project updates to one another; 
  • Participating in execution planning activities as the operational representative, providing input for operational context, risks or opportunities to the project team; 
  • Monitoring the design progression to identify areas for engagement of the operating team; 
  • Facilitating and guiding operational input into the engineering processes; 
  • Acting as a liaison between site-based teams and construction mobilisation to ensure a smooth transition to site; 
  • Ensuring that all site safety, health, environment and community issues are clearly considered in the project decisions. 

 

What you'll need to succeed 

  • 15+ years of experience in operations; 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) are assets; 
  • Detailed understanding of the mining project lifecycle for projects of >$1B, and the critical leading indicators for success; 
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and commissioning of new operations or expanding existing operation; 
  • Technical understanding of the operation of metallurgical processing plants and general non-process infrastructure; 
  • Detailed understanding of the cost and schedule management, risk management, project information management and capital cost estimating lifecycles; 
  • Detailed understanding of operating cost drivers and production operating strategies; 
  • Collaboration qualities to collaborate with multiple stakeholders; 
  • Very relational communication style and listening skills.  You like to be an ambassador;  
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
