Insurance Verification Specialist (Remote-TX)

This position is 100% remote within the State of Texas only.

The Remote Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate patient demographic and insurance information is reported in each claim.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Request hospital face sheet/demographics if applicable to obtain payer/demographic information.
  • Verify payer information and select/add appropriate payer information on all transports.
  • Check appropriate insurance websites and/or contact the patient on all private pay accounts prior to billing.
  • Review PCR or face sheets for missing insurance and other pertinent information in relation to billing.
  • Research and resolve any claim for which a denial was received.
  • Follow up on rejected claims.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum two (2) years insurance verification experience
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Computer literate
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Professional phone skills
  • Maintain any certification applicable to job functions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize their importance 

ADDITIONAL REMOTE WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a verifiable resident of Texas.
  • Internet speeds must meet minimum standards and will be evaluated by Emergicon's IT Department.
  • Must have the ability to attend interviews, training, and meetings virtually.  Usage of a webcam is mandatory.

Emergicon requires satisfactory pre-employment background check and drug screen.
