Registered Nurse -  Interventional Pain Management

We are looking for a bilingual Registered Nurse to join our very busy orthopedic practices in Metairie. The ideal candidate will have an excellent work ethic, enjoy multi-tasking and staying organized.  Great attention to detail and clear communication with patients are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports
• Oversee the patient care experience from pre-op to follow-up
• Manage patient education, medical clearances, clinic preparations and functions  
• Translate for Spanish speaking patients
• Administer medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions
• Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments
• Recording patient vital signs and medical information
• Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions
• Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans

 Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or masters degree in nursing
• Pass the National Council Licensure Examination
• Current state licensure as a registered nurse and BLS certification required
• Must be ACLS certified
• Must have excellent IV skills
• Must be competent in working autonomously as a charge nurse and directing others
• Must meet physical requirements of being able to push, pull and lift patients when needed. 
• Willing to travel to Baton Rouge is a plus.  Spanish speaking is a required.  Experience with E clinical works is a plus.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience.  Fast pace setting such as Emergency Room or Pre-op a plus.
