Registered Nurse- Child & Family Services

The Registered Nurse promotes the healthy growth and development of children with the responsibility of delivering health services for Head Start, Early Head Start, School Readiness and Home-Based programs.  This work is done in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local regulations.  The Registered Nurse works closely with the Health and Nutrition Services Coordinator, Health Specialist, and other content area and management staff to ensure that children receive high-quality, comprehensive, hands-on care such as first-aid, health screenings, and monitoring the daily health statuses of children. Coordinates with the Health and Nutrition Manager and Health Specialist to provide training, mentoring, and support to staff in areas of expertise.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Associate’s degree in Nursing in Massachusetts
  • Minimum of two years of experience in pediatrics, school health, or community health 
  • Knowledge of community resources in the field of maternal child health care
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary, multiethnic team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate in an articulate manner to leadership and staff
  • Ability to communicate with children and families
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to travel to home-visit sites
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Head Start experience preferred
  • Experience working with diverse populations is a plus
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish or English-Creole) is a plus
