Position Description

 

Ashford Hall is seeking a Part-Time / PRN Registered Dietician to join our Dietary Services Team.  The primary purpose of your job position is to assess individual residents' nutritional needs, develop individualized meal plans, monitor their progress, educate staff and residents on nutrition, and ensure optimal nutrition to improve health and quality of life.  These services will be performed in accordance with currently accepted professional standards and all applicable federal, state and local laws and administrative regulations.  


Part-Time Position

3 Days per Month, Flexible schedule

 

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

·       Assess Residents - RD will conduct thorough assessments of residents' nutritional status, considering their medical history, medications, and any existing dietary restrictions or preferences.

 

·       Develop Individualized Plans - RD will create personalized nutrition plans that address specific needs, such as managing chronic conditions, promoting wound healing, or addressing weight loss or gain.

 

·       Consider Residents' Preferences - RD will take into account residents' cultural and religious preferences to ensure that meal options are enjoyable and appropriate.

 

·       Monitor Progress - RD will regularly monitor residents' weight, lab values, and other relevant indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of the nutrition plans and make adjustments as needed.

 

·       Review and Evaluate Menus - RD will review and evaluate the facility's menus to ensure they meet resident's nutritional needs and preferences.

 

·       .Address Special Diets - RD is responsible for managing special diets, such as those for diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease.


Qualifications 

·       Must possess a current, unencumbered Registered Dietician License/Certification in the State of Texas.

 

·       Bachelor's degree required. Dietetics, Nursing, Public Health Administration, or health-related degree is preferred.

 

·       Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 - 5 years successful experience as a Registered Dietician in a licensed nursing facility.
