AVENS currently has 2 exciting roles available in the Recreation Department:

Recreation Assistant-Casual

Reporting to the Volunteer and Recreation Supervisor, The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for organizing, implementing and coordinating group activities to enhance the social, physical and psychological well-being of residents at AVENS – A Community for Seniors.

Education and Experience Requirements

v  Education or training related to Recreation Therapy

v  Current certification in Standard First Aid, CPR (level C)

v  Experience working with an elderly population and individuals with dementia is preferred

v  Must be able to obtain, provide and maintain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check

Pay and Benefits

SALARY: $29.03

PENSION PLAN: Not available on terms under 12 months

VACATION: Collective Agreement governs how vacation leave is allotted and administered

SICK LEAVE: Collective Agreement governs how sick leave is allotted and administered.
