R&D Analyst

The R&D Analyst will be responsible for the following:

Role:

An R&D Analyst is responsible for helping to ensure all activities related to research and development are captured and documented. They will work with the R&D Manager to ensure new projects are documented, time is appropriately allocated, and all R&D related activities and costs are captured. They will also be responsible for assisting with new grant applications or researching new funding programs that Fidelity may be a candidate for as well as documentation associated with any grants received. They will also help with administrative tasks for accounting or general operations as time permits.

Duties Include:

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for new SR&ED projects
  • Evaluate current processes to identify improved methods
  • Document innovation activities to capture lessons learned and opportunity for process improvement
  • Document proposals and seek out funding opportunities
  • Once opportunities are identified prepare documents, power point presentations related R&D
  • Assist the R&D Manager with preparing year end claim packages
  • Assist with contracts with available government funded programs
  • Support finance to manage and track funding and financials for SRED throughout its term
  • Collect and track time for the management and ownership group directly related to R&D
  • Daily balancing of time entries in our ERP software
  • Administrative duties for Finance or General Operations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School education or equivalent
  • Mandatory that this role take part in a criminal record check and controlled goods screening

Experience:

  • 1 to 4 years of work experience in R&D, Grant writing, Engineering, or Science
  • Experience in the machining industry is considered an asset
  • Experience with grant applications, grant administration, or SRED is considered an asset
  • This is an entry level position with opportunity for advancement for the right candidate

Core Work hours:

  • 7:30am-4:00pm Monday – Friday
