Quality Inspector
Job Objective: The objective for the Quality Inspector is to provide and coordinate all Quality objectives related to the customer within CMC’s scope.
CMC Expectations of a Successful Quality Inspector:
• Actively seeks process improvements.
• Inspects parts during the manufacturing process. This will involve checking material, and measuring physical characteristics of a part or assembly.
• Verify completed work orders.
• Follow and support CMC safety requirements, such as wearing the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ready to work from the start of the shift until the end.
• Follow all company policies, for example, the Quality, Safety and Employee Manuals.
Skills of a Quality Inspector:
• Use of basic measuring tools: Calipers, Micrometers, Indicators, Tape Measure.
. Blueprint reading and Inspecting welds
• Attention to Detail: Acute attention to detail is required.
• Computer and Software Skills: Good computer and software skills is a must for a successful Quality Inspector. Much of the role for the Quality Inspector involves the computer and specific software: Excel, Word, MIE Trak Pro, and Outlook. It is key for the Quality Inspector to not only be proficient in the various software, but to also look for ways to continuously improve the overall management of the information maintained.
• Communication Skills: The Quality Inspector will be required to work with shop personnel, and this requires patience and diplomacy.
• Problem Solving Skills: It is important for the Quality Inspector to be able to think “outside of the box†and provide solutions to issues as they arise.
Preferred:
• 2-5 years of work experience as a Quality Inspector.
• Able to lift 20 lbs. without assistance, and sit for long periods of time.
