Position Summary

 The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and precision of products manufactured in a high-performance CNC machining environment. This position is responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on materials, components, and finished products to verify compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate brings a strong attention to detail, technical proficiency in interpreting engineering documentation, and a solid understanding of quality control procedures. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test materials, parts, or products for defects 
  • Perform in-process inspection and monitor production operations to ensure conformance to specifications 
  • Document inspection results and maintaining quality records 
  • Apply appropriate quality improvement techniques to enhance product quality
  • Support quality-related aspects of project planning and execution, such as tracking inspection milestones, material readiness, and compliance tasks.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of quality documentation, including inspection plans, traveler updates, and quality checkpoints.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are aligned with project timelines.
  • Coordinate and maintain project-related quality metrics, such as inspection pass rates, rework trends, and delivery readiness.
  • Monitor and follow up on open quality action items, supporting project execution through a quality lens.
  • Provide input on continuous improvement initiatives within project workflows, helping reduce defects and delays.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

 Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; an associate degree in a related field is often preferred 
  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Attention to detail: Ability to identify defects and deviations from specifications 
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in interpreting engineering models, drawings, and requirements.  Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment 
  • Communication skills: Ability to clearly document and communicate quality issues and collaborate with production teams 
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures: Understanding of industry standards and regulations associated with manufacturing of precision CNC machines

·         Up to 10% travel to key suppliers or customers

$22.00 - 25.00 hourly plus full benefits
