Quality Control Technician
DuBrook Inc, a member of the M and B Group, is seeking individuals at multiple locations to serve in the role of Quality Control Technician.
DuBrook is a growing redi-mix concrete production company with 7 locations in Western Pennsylvania.
The Quality Control Technician will be assigned the following key functions and tasks:
- Perform quality control tests on fresh concrete, including sampling, slump, air, temperature, unit weight and molding strength test specimens in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards.
- Adjust concrete mixes as necessary prior to concrete loads leaving the plant to ensure compliance with on the job project specifications and requirements.
- Perform quality control tests on fine and coarse aggregates for concrete, including sampling, gradations, moisture content and wash tests.
- Adhere to all PENNDOT and NYDOT redi-mix plant regulations/directives and maintain PENNDOT/NYDOT record book daily for production of approved concrete
- Represent the company in the field on projects as necessary to perform quality control tests for concrete and to ensure delivered concrete meets project requirements.
- Ensure plant calibrations and certifications are completed as required
- Complete comprehension of batching and dispatching procedures and act in those capacities on an as-needed basis.
- Operate plant equipment such as a front-end loader, skid steer, forklift, etc. for maintenance of production materials.
- Ability to understand project plans and specifications related to redi-mix concrete and concrete production.
- Ability to problem solve and maintain composure and a high level of professionalism when under pressure.
- Must work extended hours and irregular schedules, including Saturdays, in inclement weather which can include wet, humid, extreme cold, extreme heat.
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Prefer current ACI certification and/or PENNDOT field testing certification for concrete
- 5 years experience in the concrete industry is preferred
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Computer skills
