Quality Control Tech
We are looking to fill a Quality Control Tech position (2nd Shift 2PM- 10:30PM) by the airport area.
Candidate will conduct tests to determine the quality of materials and finished products as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Base pay starting at $16-$17/hour
Ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through testing and inspection processes. This position requires a strong understanding of quality assurance protocols and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment. Under the general supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor or Manager, QC Tech is responsible for day-to-day quality inspections of products in process and outgoing shipments. Learns, maintains and promotes concepts of total quality, continuing improvement and adherence to quality control policies. Experience using calipers and measurement tools.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees raw material testing, finished goods, labeling and packaging.
- Conducts daily quality inspections of product in process to ensure the customer requirements are met.
- Identifies and disposes of the non-conforming products in the course of regular inspection activities.
- Conducts daily inspection of outgoing shipments for accuracy and finished good quality (i.e., proper pallet stacking, stretch-wrapping, etc.)
- Provides support in the implementation of strategies and processes to ensure that total quality is promoted throughout the company.
- Provides support to carry-out processes and procedures to ensure that there is continuous improvement in all company operations and that waste is kept to a minimum.
- Monitors adherence to Quality Control Policies.
- Assists in preparing quality reports (data entry).
- Keeps inventory of Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMR’s) and Scrap Tickets.
- During slack levels of production or changeovers, the QA Technician may provide support with the organization of the operation or facility.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three or more years of related experience.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment--preferably expanded metal environment or automotive industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook required.
- Previous sit-down forklift experience desired.
