About the Role
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you will be a key player in ensuring our
software meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your work will
directly influence the user experience and the success of our platform. You
will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other
cross-functional team members to define, execute, and maintain testing
strategies that support our agile development process. Your insights will help
identify issues early, streamline workflows, and ensure our products deliver
value to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Developers to embed quality into the development process from the outset.
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot manual & automated test cases for new features and updates.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated frontend tests using Playwright
- Create and automate backend API tests using Postman, Newman, or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test scripts and test cases aligned with business requirements.
- Perform verification of builds through acceptance testing, conduct regression testing, and track defects using JIRA or similar tools.
- Participate in story analysis, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure quality considerations are integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
- Assist in defining and refining testing standards and procedures to improve overall quality processes.
- Communicate testing progress, issues, and insights effectively during daily stand-ups and team meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in manual testing, creating, and maintaining test scripts.
- Proven experience with frontend test automation using Playwright (preferred) or similar tools
- Proven experience writing and executing backend/API tests using Postman or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies and experience working within such frameworks.
- Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as MS SQL Server.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for continuous learning and improvement in quality assurance practices.
- Experience in the tax or financial industry is a plus.
