Registered Nurse-Treatment/Restorative/QAPI

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the quality assessment and assurance (QA&A) program and quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) activities of the facility in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
• Identify the the facility's key performance indicators and establish an on-going system to monitor progress.
• Lead monthly QAPI team meetings and maintain all documentation.
• Conducts rounds, observing residents and staff performance.
• Develop, implement,  and organize restorative care. Ensure plans are in place for each resident. Assist with the MDS meetings as indicated. 
• Review and update care plans to reflect progress/changes.
• Must work as a medication nurse, treatment nurse or supervisor as needed.
• Assist Restorative CNAs as needed.
• Identify, manage and treat specific skin conditions. 
• Obtain physician orders and provide wound care on assigned residents.
• Document changes in condition and monitor implementation of preventive measures. 
• This position is included in the on-call rotation along with the Nursing Supervisors. 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• An unencumbered Mississippi Registered Nurse License.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long term care.
• Knowledgeable of nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
• Completed specialized training in infection prevention and control through accredited continuing education.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. 
• Minimum of one (1) year experience with demonstrated success in a nursing position in a licensed nursing home preferred.
