QA Tester Lead (Director or Manager) – QNXT Testing / D-SNP – CA Health Plans

AXIOM Systems is seeking a highly experienced QA Leader (Manager/Director level) to serve as a QA Tester Lead SME with a specialized focus on QNXT testing and Dual Special Needs Plans (D-SNP) within California health plans. This strategic role combines hands-on manual testing expertise with senior-level management, offering the opportunity to lead testing teams, drive QA strategy, and consult with executive stakeholders on quality initiatives in the healthcare space.
The ideal candidate brings a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare domain, strong leadership in QA best practices across all levels of testing, and the ability to guide clients toward successful outcomes through clear, executive-level communication and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee end-to-end QA efforts, including functional, regression, UAT, integration, and system testing, for QNXT systems supporting D-SNP programs in California.
- Manage QA teams and provide strategic direction, performance oversight, and resource planning to ensure quality objectives are met.
- Act as a trusted QA consultant, interfacing regularly with executives, program managers, and stakeholders, presenting testing strategies, results, risks, and solutions with clarity and confidence.
- Serve as the SME for QNXT, offering guidance on configuration, data validation, and claims processing within CA Medicaid and Medicare plans.
- Develop and enforce QA processes, standards, and best practices to ensure scalable and repeatable testing frameworks.
- Provide mentorship and training to QA staff while fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with business and IT leadership to align QA strategies with overall project goals and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 5+ years in a QA Manager or Director role within the healthcare industry.
- Minimum 3 years of direct QNXT experience within California health plans.
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary QA teams across complex healthcare implementations.
- Deep understanding of the entire healthcare lifecycle, including claims, enrollment, provider, encounter, and regulatory testing.
- Extensive background in manual testing with the ability to design strategic test plans and lead defect triage and resolution processes.
- Strong consulting presence, with demonstrated ability to present to executive leadership and translate technical findings into business value.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
