Public Affairs Specialist

The Public Affairs Specialists shall provide services to support press inquiries received by the ASPA. This includes but is not limited to support for coordinating with various OPDVIS and STAFFDIVS to understand policy details, drafting
written communications and executing and project managing press roll outs and events. The duties for this position are as follows:
Junior Public Affairs Specialist
  • Supports mid-level and senior public affairs staff with drafting first round of press materials
  • Assists in supporting staff in coordinating deliverables internally
  • Provides organizational support to team members
Mid-Level Public Affairs Specialist
  • Helps draft and edit press materials for final approval
  • Leads internal and external meetings with stakeholders and press
  • Leads the development of public events working across programs and divisions to coordinate due-outs such as press calls, talking points, advisories, press releases, fact sheets, memos, and other materials for press and staff
Senior Public Affairs Specialist
  • Serves as strategic lead and main contact for principals driving project management for high-visibility policy roll-outs, events, and story placement
  • Oversee and support teams professional development
  • Proactively identify team’s needs and participate in high-level meetings with principals
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence and experience to be the final approval of material.
  • Graphic Designer: Produce and design visual representation of HHS’s mission, values, policies, and impact for multi-platform use ensuring consistent themes and eye-catching creative work consistent with the HHS brand and mission.
