Psychiatrist
We are excited to expand our mental health platform and are in search of an enthusiastic and compassionate psychiatrist to join our highly effective interdisciplinary team of healthcare practitioners with over 50 years of combined experience in cannabinoid therapy. You must be licensed to practice in Ontario.
Apollo is a leading cannabis clinic and research organization helping thousands of Canadians safely access medical cannabis. Our objective is to educate patients and provide compassionate legal access to medical cannabis. You will provide consultations for the candidacy of medical cannabis access to our patients and their families, with a special interest in supporting military families. Responsibilities will also include psychological case management input, recommendations to the interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, psycho-social barriers, and conflict management.
Requirements:
Medical degree and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with team members, and patients virtually
Comfortable with the use of virtual tools including video, telephone, and EMR
Through our published research study on cannabinoids for the management of chronic pain beginning in 2015, patients following Apollo's treatment plan reported 43% less pain & those using opioids halved their dose on average of 26mg/day to 13mg/day in the first month. The study also reported a significant improvement in their mental health.
