FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) that is passionate about serving the community to make a positive patient impact, focused on providing an exceptional patient experience, committed to clinical excellence, and considered integral to the development and growth of MedNOW Clinics. The PMHNP will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients with a range of mental health conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health disorders, therapeutic interventions, and medication management, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. 

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, utilize evidence-based tools and techniques, to identify and diagnose a variety of mental health disorders. 

·        Treatment Management: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions. 

·        Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications for patients based on their individual needs and clinical guidelines. 

·        Therapy: Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions to address patient concerns and promote well-being. 

·        Collaboration: Collaborate with psychiatrists, other healthcare professionals, and patients/families to ensure continuity and coordination of care. 

·        Education: Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management. 

·        Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. 

·        Crisis Intervention: Provide timely and appropriate crisis intervention services to patients experiencing acute mental health crises. 

·        Supervision: Supervising a team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. Monitor clinical documentation and ensure timely completion of notes.  

 

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing or equivalent
  • Must have a Colorado Medical License
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Current DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, pharmacology, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and therapeutic relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassion, empathy, and understanding of individuals with mental health conditions.
