Job Title: Prototype Fixturing Technician

Regular Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm

"XPTO": In addition to company provided paid time off, starting day one employee can earn up to 60 hours of paid leave within in a one-year period.

Position Summary:   Member of Prototype Department with the responsibility for the construction and maintenance of production and prototype fixturing, which meet or exceed customer and corporate expectations.

 Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·         Work with the Engineering department to create and refine fixtures for new product designs

·         Prepare fixture builds by cutting and machining fixture components

·         Build Fixtures from the design engineers’ blueprints or physical prototypes

·         Red lines fixture drawings for accuracy

·         Should have exceptional fabrication skills

·         Ability to read a tape measure and calipers

·         Ability to work with minimal supervision

·         Excellent problem-solving skills

·         Ability to multitask while providing a high level of attention to detail

·         Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

·         Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school or equivalent required
  • Mig and Tig welding experience required
  • Technical School degree in welding and metal fabrication preferred
  • Machining experience is preferred
  • Two years’ experience in a manufacturing or technical environment required
  • Strong communication, problem solving, planning, and organizing skills required
  • Knowledge of engineering and technical principles
  • Ability to communicate technical aspects to a nontechnical audience
  • Ability to participate in team projects and meetings

Conditions and Equipment:

  • Standard plant environment must be able to work in extreme heat.
  • Medium physical demands must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently to move objects.
  • Need to have the stamina to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Will use a variety of hand tools, metal fabricating tools, MIG and TIG Welding, cutting tools, lathes, and mills.
