Prospect Research Specialist
Position Overview
PreBorn is seeking a detail-oriented, data-driven, and mission-passionate Prospect Research Specialist to join our Development team. This individual will play a key role in identifying, researching, and evaluating potential mid/major donors, foundations, and corporate partners who align with PreBorn’s mission. The Prospect Research Specialist will provide valuable insight and strategic recommendations that inform the organization’s fundraising efforts and help drive its financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
· Research and Identify Prospects: Conduct in-depth research to identify potential donors (individuals, foundations, and corporations) who have the capacity and inclination to support PreBorn’s pro-life mission.
· Analyze Donor Data: Use a variety of tools and resources (donor databases, public records, wealth screening tools, etc.) to analyze financial capacity, philanthropic interests, and giving history.
· Prepare Prospect Profiles: Create comprehensive prospect profiles that provide insight into an individual or organization’s giving potential, history, interests, and alignment with PreBorn’s mission.
· Strategic Recommendations: Collaborate with the development team to make data-driven recommendations for engagement strategies and prioritization of fundraising efforts.
· Track and Report: Maintain an organized database of prospect research, tracking key data points, outreach efforts, and engagement milestones. Provide regular reports on research findings and impact.
· Support Development Team: Assist in the creation of targeted fundraising strategies, campaigns, and proposals by providing prospect intelligence and insights.
· Collaborate on Events: Provide research support for special events, including identifying high-net-worth individuals and partners who may be interested in attending or supporting.
· Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure that all prospect and donor information is kept confidential and compliant with ethical research standards and legal regulations.

Qualifications
· 2+ years of experience in prospect research, fundraising, or a related field. Experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in pro-life or faith-based organizations, is a plus.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and present research findings clearly and concisely.
· Proficiency in using research tools and databases (e.g., DonorSearch, WealthEngine, iWave, etc.).
· Familiarity with fundraising software (e.g., Blackbaud, Virtuous, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Passion for the pro-life cause and the mission of PreBorn.
Preferred Skills
· Knowledge of the pro-life movement and its key stakeholders.
· Experience with data visualization tools to present research findings.
· Ability to provide recommendations based on both qualitative and quantitative data.
